The story is of a young warrior who is trying to save his lost love. To do so he must find and defeat 16 amazing Colossi with the aid of his horse Argo. If this is any were near as good as the game that came before this, (ICO, which I doubt anyone here has played as it was hardly advertised and very few copies were released in the UK) then it will be truely amazing. An intense journey of exploration, puzzle solving and eerie battle. The graphics are brilliant. If you like exploring and solving puzzles, you'll enjoy this I bet! The 5 star reviews are already pouring in. It's due for release on the 17th, woo! Ico is worth picking up if you can get hold of it, it's all about puzzles (not easy ones!) and amazing landscapes, check it out! Try eBay or Amazon. These are very unique games. And very enjoyable. ;D

I have played Shadow of Colosus (Ico 2) for a few hours and so far it is amazing! Brilliant stuff! Anyone seeing this would be impressed and most likely amazed for so many reasons. There is no game like this.
And no one could call it mindless action, well they could but they'd be wrong. It's not particularly hard but it is fun working out how to defeat each of the huge monstrosities. It does take some thought. And the landscapes you travel round on your horse are fantastic.
I recommend everyone check it out. Great stuff. Though not sure how long it will last at this point...
Don't be put off by the boring intro if you do play it by the way, lol.

Wow this game looks amazing! This is exactly the kind of game I love. Its a shame its on the PS2, it looks like I wont get to play this one, unless it is out on the PC as well or something.
I just love huge, seemingly impossible to defeat bosses, especially if they frighten the life out of you because of how dangerous or fast they are!
For me it is the bosses that made Resident evil so great and this game seems to focus mostly on the boss battles!

I've ordered both Icos from Play, exited!! They are the sort of games which cost loads of money to develop but never get the time of day from punters.

Aye, you are right Sam. These are the sort of games people have being screaming about wanting to see for years and now they've been released, a huge percentage of these people aren't really interested. It's a shame, as it sends a messege to other developers, not to take the same risk and to continue to re-release the same games over and over, as people won't buy new and interesting games.
Both games (Ico and Ico2) are in actual fact very different from each other and very unique, while still great fun, as long as you don't want to blow monsters to bits with a rocket launcher 24/7, while getting lots of blood, or race cars, etc.
And you are right Luke, this game is all about finding the boss, riding across a large landscape on horse back, and taking a while to figure out how to defeat the thing once you've found it. This usually means, how on earth do I climb on top of it? In fact there aren't any of those constant enemies you get in so many other games, just the bosses from what I've seen.
I prefer playing these games with people, as it's fun solving the puzzles with others at the same time.
Oh Ico 2 is Shadow of Colussus for anyone who got confused by that.

I think what makes both games so appealing is the fact that they are basically uncluttered by any of those inventory screens, statistic screens or anything else of that nature, which leaves you free to just enjoy the game, rather than worrying about the next object to collect or what you're running low on.
Which wouldn't be hard anyway, this game (just like Ico) is stunning....
The fluidity of the game is what impresses most for me, as well as a strong sense of isolation.
I miss Yorda and Ico though :-(
