I have seen these on the internet, apart from owning one for illegal activities what are the benifits of actually having one?

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it, coz I am interested in getting one.

Well the only other benifits of having a Flash cart, (apart from illegal activity) is buy using it as a media storage device, I configured my 256Mbit card to play Avril Lavignes album, but the quality isn't good!
Also movies can be stored on them, but again only for short times, and the quality is not bad! a 256Mbit cart only works out at 32MBytes, so not even the same size as a 64MB flash card, it can do pictures, too and view them in a slide show.
The only other benifit, is free games on the internet known as Public Domain, I will be hosting some FREE PD ROMS on the valley soon, but you won't find any comercial roms, but I will try to host the best free ones.
Also it is good if you are a home programmer and want to make your own GBA games and want to test them out on the actual system hardware, we all know emulators never pump out 100%

Why do you have a flash card for really Duke? actually, your a home brew programmer, does that mean that one day you will be making a game for GBA?

I think that will be any fan of the GBA's or any format goal, to make a game for the format they love.
I am sure Duke wouldn't mind making a game for the GBA at somepoint, if he knew how.

I would LOVE to make a GBA game...
the problem with GBA is that it uses a ARM Processor which needs a lot of experience to get anything out of it, but I am happy making PC games. ;D

Bringing old threads to life!
I just got my old school EEPROM based flash card working again, just letting the internal battery charge up before I flash new games to it, I plan on playing some classic GBA games soon, which does mean I gotta find either a) my GBA, b) my DS or c) my Game Boy Player (GameCube)
Got loads of games that I want to play, and although I do have a card that allows SD memory (lots of space) this cart I am using I can write the ROM to the memory, and make it behave as if it were the commercial cart (which is great for games with "transfer" abilities where it reads the header of the game card)

They were great back in the day, and I know Duke is a retro lover as much as modern games, so maybe he is feeling an old GBA game to play?

Ahh the gameboy advance, I remember that console, It is hard to imagine that the GBA is retro now, We all have to thank the GBA. It is a shame, but is understandable that they took out GBA from the 3DS (and DSi?)
