I have been reading up on Windows Vista, and how it will change over Windows XP, although we all have to admit, XP is probably one of the most reliable and steady Windows OS' that Microsoft have done since Windows 98 / 2000 (yes and NT)
Nevermind that to get the most out of Windows Vista, you will need to get the Vista Premium version
here are Microsoft Specs for it (these could and I hope change!)
PCs that meet the minimum supported system requirements will be able to run the core features of Windows Vista with the basic user experience.
*- Most 64-bit processors, come faster then 1GHz so this is pretty pointless.
I have to say that the system requirements are a bit extreme, especially the 1GB of RAM, this is something that only high end PC's have, to the average user it is most likley just 512MB, and as for the Graphics card? I mean a Operating System that needs a 3D Graphics card, what do you think from that?
How will games run on the machine? If windows requires the graphics card to pump out graphics for the GUI (Graphical User Interface) then how will machines even with the top specs run with games like Half-Life 2 etc...
I just think it is cool that I will be buying a 512MB Graphics card soon, but I don't think I will be getting Windows Vista for a long time, even though my PC could easily run it going by those specs... but does that mean my PC at the moment High-End XP, will become low end with Windows Vista?
my specs:
Even with these specs I don't want to get Vista, I want to get the most out of my hardware where it is needed most, as you can probably tell, my hardware is optimised for Gaming, yes even I experience lag on some machines, mainly because my Graphics card, is a bit dated.
