I know this will only call out to a select few, but which is your fave story line, which one drew you in the most?
I have to say, even though I am still playing through the game, Rise of the Zilart is a fantastic story, the fact that it really does continue directly from the main story line, it really got me going! However I am sure some of the proper FFXI Vet's here will say that the best is yet to come
Rise of the Zilart is the first Expansion Pack for FFXI and although I got a taste of some of the other expansion packs thanks to some very awesome people of the forum, I really enjoyed the story line from start to finish.
I just want to know what is your fave story lines in the game.. for some strange reason I get the feeling Wings of the Goddess will be making an appearance a few times here.

By far hands down Chains of Promathia took everything you thought you knew about the world of Vana'diel and fliped it on its head! Quality writing, realy memorable characters and great locations realy felt like you were playing a FF game not just an MMO. My one regret is not doing the last few missions as we were so close to the end

I enjoyed chains, but to he honest I loved the original story line. I know it was "basic" in comparrison but I loved it, the exploration it involved. I think chains had the best puzzles, was it chains where you had to climb up that stupid mountain?

Yea the main story was pretty epic, Also the last stint on the San d'Oria rank missions was pretty engaging too, the whole succession to the throne story arc and getting to fight alongside Prince Trion wielding Lightbringer was a personal highlight. It was Chains with that friggin Mountain remember that night!! Took us hours!! was times like that I was glad I was on gamepad and not mouse and keyboard! And I still can't look at an Antlion without crying!! Thank the gods we can jump in XIV.

Those were some epic times though, getting all hot under the collar just because of what was a simple thing at the end of it, and I will be honest I found it easier on ye keyboard and mouse then a gamepad, but then I suppose that is the whole debate PC gaming vs Console.
Of course Wings of the Goddess had some really epic moments, apart from that dancer with a fecking lisp! It took me so long to get through those cutscenes as I had to literally pronounce it out loud to understand what that bugger was saying!
I think the zones in Wings were some of the best, the first time you see the waterfall in Vunkerl Inlet, I have lost count the amount of people I have helped through those zones!

Yea wings was great, and they realy pushed the limits of the software in the cut scenes, new character mesh's and zones! And Vunkerl was beautiful, also that mountainous region in Bastok (the name escapes me now)

The scholar path is a great one! I loved the cutscenes in that and I think that the final battle is more fitting then a run off the mill Maat fight!

Haha, You know me Cass, I am always finding stuff to do, I did say I want to enjoy all of FFXI, and to do that, I need to experience all the Cutscenes that I can, and as I thought about it, if I am going to have a couple of Mage jobs under my belt, better use RDM as a support right.
I only leveled it to 60, just so I can enjoy the story line, and I have to say one thing.. Eli is a master Red Mage, because I tried doing a bit of campaign battle with it RDM/NIN (just like the legend himself did) and got wiped out so many times it wasn't funny, I don't know how he done it!

Shucks!
Red mage is easy, then again by time I done campaign battle I had been playing for well over a year as red mage. And a lot of soloing and stuff so lots of practice!
And all with only a handful of macros.
Only tip I can give is, don't try to actually kill the enemy, just concentrate enfeebling and keeping yourself alive. You won't get good exp in campaign until level 80 to be honest.

I should have a video somewhere when I was archiving some of the cutscenes, I will see if I can find it later. But won't promise anything.
