I am surprised there is no FF7 thread so I decided to create one! Basically I am sure everyone on this forum has either heard of the game, or played it, and even watched the movie and played the spin off games. So I am sure there is always a bit of talking involved here.
I just want to know, has anyone bought this game on Steam or via the Square-Enix direct download service? is it any good? I know it is just the original game, as it was all those years ago, but is it worth buying for PC, and how about the controls are they easy to understand I imagine playing it using a keyboard won't give you the same enjoyment as a control pad.

I was a bit crazy with this game, I think I completed it start to finish about 7 times. Guess I had too much spare time on my hands as a kid, lol. I would play it again if they re-released it with some trophies added on. Maybe one day they'll remake it in glorious HD. Anyone remember this tech demo?
I still listen to a lot of music from this game and the film Advent Children. And also some remixes of the original soundtracks, this is one of my favourites, Lunatic Moon. Fits Red XIII perfectly I think.

The devs at Square-Enix have said that they won't remake FFVII until another FF game has surpassed it in quality and epicness, basically they have admitted that every FF game since 7 hasn't been all that. Which I think is a joke!

I got the game off direct download, and I can say that the game is exactly the same as the PS version and the like, and you can configure it to use a game pad if you wish (xbox controller for windows is perfect!)
Cloud saves, so you can continue your progress if you ever need to re-install or if you install to another machine, although this is VERY buggy in times and if you can't sync to the server then you can't save or load your game. I just hope that the steam version uses "Steam Cloud" saves instead, which I very much doubt it will.

I still got my PS2, with my original PS disc and save, so I won't be needing the PC version, unless it adds anything worth while, I heard there are achievements but they are pointless these days.
*Removed content as it contains spoilers*
I was going to go on about some of the cool story line in FFVII but realised there is no "spoiler" tags, is this something that can be added?

So, after having made a real life Buster Sword, this guy has only gone and made a real life Masamune as well, Sephiroth's iconic weapon, and wow, it looks amazing. I want one.

Haha! Looks fantastic! I haven't played much on PC version of FFVII recently, but I am sure I will one day!
How is everyone?
