I upgraded my 250GB hard drive that was in my slim, to a 720GB Drive (soon after buying my PS3) everyone always said that I wouldn't need that much space, well if that is the case, why am I having to delete a lot of my games just so I can enjoy some new ones?
I have PS+ (the £40 a year subscription) and that gives me free games every month, the thing is I download these games so they are in my download list for when I do want to play them (once you have downloaded them once - or made the "purchase" they are yours as long as your subscription is still active!) but I don't, I leave them on my hard drive.
And although I do have some great games, I don't play them as often, I am overwhelmed with the amount of choice now that I just don't know what too play.
So my point is this, having a massive hard drive in your console is only good if you plan on having it as a media center, where you store your music and some video files too, the space shouldn't be used to download and hoard a load of games, unless you intend on playing them!
I have just deleted 100 odd PS3 titles off my hard drive, leaving on only the ones I intend to play, I am now starting to keep track of games I want to play and ones I don't the ones I don't = deletion, the ones I do I will either keep them on my PS3 or keep them in a handy list by my PS3 of "Games to play in the future that I have access too"
So what is your take on a big hard drive? I just think it just will get cluttered up with rubbish and you will never delete stuff until, like me, you have no choice.

Mine is only 120 gb. I have to delete games fairly often which is a pain sometimes. No point upgrading now though as the PS4 will be here soon. Hopefully that 500 gb hard drive will be enough. I'm using my Vita a lot at the moment for which I have a 32 gb card which is excellent, plenty of room, and I never feel awkward about deleting stuff on there. As you say though, it's all in the download list so it can always be downloaded a second time if needed.

A 32gb card? I havent seen any of them around, got a 16gb card in mine, funny thing is my vita bundle came with digital copy of FIFA, + a 4gb card, and an additional 4gb card coz hmv didn't realise it had one.
Now thing is, FIFA download is around 3.7Gbytes and won't fit on either cards... I think Fail is the word.
Edit: stupid phone! Too many typos
