yikes i thought eight times was quite a lot, lol.
i will play it again, you can count on it.
the main missing bit would be ressurecting Aeris, would it not?
ok best i stop thinking about this game, i start getting a bit obssessed with the whole thing, it's just too cool! i don't think any other game has is so brilliant and has so much depth to it.

If you dont want to get addicted to another Fantasy game don’t play Diablo 2 Its real-time instead of turn based and there are not fixed weapons, they are almost endless combinations that are randomly generated with hundreds of others special weapons that you really need to fight hard for. There are 7 balanced characters to play and they are all played in very different ways and can be created with the skills you want (oh yeah this game is VERY hard on the past difficulty!)
anyway back on topic...... They would never resurrect Aeris as its a very important part of the storyline and plays a major role in the end of the game.

I have seen diablo and diablo2 briefly but it was more the personalities of the characters and story line of final fantasy that got me so addicted, which the diablo games don't seem to pay anywhere near as much attention to. you see i can get addicted to a really good book, you know, not be able to put it down and ff7 is just like that to me.

Aries was supposed to be ressurrected at the end along with holy, on the final battle against safer sephiroth.

Well Aeris was not resurrected but she did return shortly in spirit and did play her part in stopping meteor with lifestream. As sad as Aeris dying was I was happy that she was not resurrected as there were not many games out there that were brave enough to have a main playable character killed and remain dead. Aeris dying was a part of what made the storyline great and if she was resurrected it would be like all the other happy endings where everyone was ok.
My hat comes off to the story writers of this game (If I had a hat anyway ;D)

I have a hat!
You make a very good point though, her death was very important to the whole story. For one thing it makes you realise Sephiroth is capable of anything.. quite possibly one of the only boss battles in any game that I can recall(and I have played a lot!) that actually scared me, because of the way they built up to it.
And the fact that the writers managed to get those who played the game so involved with the characters in the game and then having one of those characters die like that makes the story unforgettable. Now I think about it, I realise you're right, it wouldn't be the same if Aeris was resurrected. because her death is so important, as you said.

Yeah the first time you battle safer Sephiroth (the one winged angel and the true boss of the game) he does tend to scare you more than in most games. Remember the supernova magic where it destroys most of the solar system just to hit you? Yeah he is that insane!!!!
Also the first time you face Sephiroth in his human form (the battle after safer Sephiroth that you cant lose!) is also a little scary as it strips you of all your Materia and you think your going to need to beat him down by yourself..... looking at that very big sword.... I am so dead!!! oh wait he only takes 1 hit lol

And it isn't one hit (well it is if you don't use your limit break) but when you do use the limit break it is about 20+ hits. LOL.

yeah who can forget that supernova he summons? easily the best summon in any final fantasy game ever i reckon! and the music is just the icing on the cake, helping to make that battle with safer sephiroth simply superb. (and he has a very scary expression!) yeah that last one on one fight is also very well done. final fantasy 12 is coming out soon it seems. wonder what that will be like. I noticed they mentioned there will be no random battles which some people can't stand.

MAN! no random battles?
That will suck! FFXI wasn't all that... it was all that online only stuff and a stupid amount to subscribe to it and all that... the final fantasy series really did seem to go downhill after 8. in my opinion anyway.
Sorry 9 was ok.. I just got bored with 10 after a while

I agree that they did indeed go down hill with each game after seven. But I still enjoyed them all. Yeah ten wasn't too great. It seems each game has a different team that makes the game. So why don't they get the ff7 team to do another final fantasy game? surely that's common sense? hmm.
yeah I can't imagine how the game would work without random battles.. should be interesting to find out.

When I heard that FFXI was going to be online I was amazed and prepared for an amazing game. The screenshots looked very good and after reading what it was about the game was on my MUST BUY list! I was very disappointed when I heard that there was an ongoing charge to play online so I never got the game. I can understand they would want to make money, but I think they let their fans down with this FFX looked like it was going to be a contender to beat FFVII after 2 previous letdowns..... but it didn’t.... and neither did XII..... so I am still waiting

A game called Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus will be coming out on PS2. ETA is november. It is said to continue the story from where the original FF7 story ended. It's being developed by SquareEnix. Sounds good to me! I really do hope they do it right. Unfotunately I have no more info on it at the moment. Something to look forward to! edit: it will definatley have good old Vincent in it! That was the main pic showing the games new graphics!

Now that’s more like it, back to what’s best! I would like to hear more about the story of Clouds past and more about Vincent Valentine as he was easily the best character and had some really odd powers! Was he a vampire? Guess not as he could go into daylight but they really made it seem that way.

hmm i read up a bit more on it.. apparantly it's more action based, it revolves around Vincent as being the main character and it could be three years after the first game ends, that this one starts. It's basically being launched along side the new movie. Here's a pic about the new game. I'm suprised they've taken so long to make a sequal. and an in game shot
