He probably hasn't seen it yet. It is definately worth watching though. It plays automatically on clicking the link I have provided, so no downloading or anything thankfully. Zack seems to be the star of the show. Tell me what you all think of it, it's very good despite the fact it differs a little from the original story. FF7 episode 1

It doesn't differ at all! the story is more of a full background of Cloud, if you remember he actually pastes his life on top of Zacks, the whole flash back in Nebelheim where He was posed taking the picture of him and sephiroth. But this all comes to light when cloud falls into the life stream.
The story is right there, you saw the true connection between Zack and Cloud, and of course the past, it explains the story of FF7 so much better!
It is well within the original confines, and it is animated beautifully! I will be looking forward to more episodes like that, now if there is a DVD, even in Japanese that has at least english subtitles I will be willing to buy it!
Loved every minute of it.

There doesn't seem to be any word of any books (although that will rock) but then again they will most likley be in Japanese if there were.
But, there is a Animated series called "Final Fantasy Unlimited" I currently have rented out the first in the series... I will let you know what it is like.

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works! while VII is a strong game and the first JRPG I played and also stopped me from doing my homework throughout my first year of high school. It has a great story and had the most imaginative game world I have ever seen created. but my favorite FF title hands down is IX! its an unsung hero great system great story fantastic characters and Stiener is a legend!!and it looked damn pretty too for the time. Its the best of both worlds it has all the charm of the SNES titles but the play and visual style of the PS games that won the hearts of western players!
That's my favorite FF game but if we are talking purely story wise my fav will always be IV

I never played IX, been advised I should when I have time to do so, because the story is good, Now I know how I could play it, if a certain someone could throw us an iso of the PS game, rather then finding a torrent or the like. I know I shouldn't talk about emulation, but its the only way I might get to enjoy it, and I promise I will buy it if I like it.. honest officer.

IX is brilliant! Might have to start again with that game.
Cass, is that a Hint in my direction? because you know there are plenty of places you can get it without the use of torrents.

I love Final Fantasy IX, I agree it deserves a lot more love than what it gets, it's easily one of the best Final Fantasies in my opinion. There's quite a few great comedy moments throughout that really endeared me to the characters, I've only completed it twice, so I'll definitely be giving it another go. They regularly put the Final Fantasy games at half price on PSN for £4 each, this is the only one I've bought so far.
My top three are FF7, FF9 and FF12 but which is the overall best I couldn't say. I'd say FF7 has the best antagonists, as Sephiroth and The Turks are very iconic and you get to see a lot of them throughout the game and what they're capable of, while the other two games have the better protagonists, as the characters generally come across as deeper and more interesting.

My top 3 Final Fantasy Games:
* FFX: Fantastic story + Favourite incarnation of the battle system * FFVII – Iconic story, beloved by all * Final Fantasy Tactics Advance – Tactical game-play and great user of character classes
Top 2 hottest female characters:
* Fran (FFXII) * Lulu (FFX)
Top 2 most over the top attacks
* Final Eclipse, for destroying the entire galaxy (Zodiark, FFXII) * Supernova, for destroying the solar system (Sephiroth, FFVII) * Ultimate End, for delivering a brutal beating so long that you can make a cup of tea white it is happening (Knights of the Round, FFVII)

This list does need to be updated, though, Final Fantasy XII, and XIII isn't on there! what the? I loved 13, I thought that was epic, although some say it was easy, I liked it, the story line was just fantastic, and although I never got round to completing it (I will one day!) I think some of the scene's are second to none, although Vanille's voice can get a bit annoying sometimes.

True, the poll is very much out of date now. We can add all the games that are missing but it means that all the current votes will be reset. We'll give it a few days and if there are no objections, options such as FF13,FF14, FF Tactics and the new upcoming FF15 (to keep it somewhat future proof), etc will be added.

Trust Nuke to come out with that top 3 list, and the top 2 hottest FF characters, proper geek-o-tron over there,
As for adding new entries to the Poll, I don't think it is really needed, now that the forum is focusing on Final Fantasy & RPG's if you want to discuss things for a certain game, then go for it. Or you could always create your own poll?
"What is your fave First/Second/Third/Fourth Gen Final Fantasy?"
I have found my "virtual" memory card on my PS3 which had a FFIX save I started earlier in the year, and have now migrated it over to my Vita, even though I haven't actually played it on my Vita yet, I know it is handy to have on a hand held, I just think it plays better on the TV, after all that was the way it was meant to be.
