You should get 2 codes if you got ps3 access, the second code is a psn store code, just redeem that code then download the beta test client. Once you register your first code on square account, you can then link your psn to it and away you go.
Beta tests normally only happen during weekends at the moment, but I think last phase is all week, until close to release.
Don't know what server you guys will be on, but I be on Ragnarok

That's the best thing about XIV no DNC!!!! Yeah, that is true, but Eli was fantastic as a sam/dnc! but not as good as rdm/dnc now that was an experiment I know he didn't regret! Well.. Rank 10, under my belt, doing the final boss of Rise of the Zilart tonight with some new buddies, the ark angels man.. they are a ****!!! Really can't wait til next week though, when the LS starts doing Chains of Promanthia from beginning, loving this linkshell it is basically just a group of people who want to play FFXI for the story lines, they spent all that time getting to level 99, now they want to see what the stories have to offer, and oh my god what better way to do it, but in full AF3+1 gear! Once I have done all the missions to date, then I will pop over to FFXIV

Yeah, that is true, but Eli was fantastic as a sam/dnc! but not as good as rdm/dnc now that was an experiment I know he didn't regret! It was definitely an experience I have to say! only really works in campaign battle though if I am honest! Just checked up on when Beta test stage 4 starts..... to be announced >.< I am assuming it will start this weekend, as it isn't long until FFXIV now, I still haven't decided wether to go with PS3 or PC version... PC Version ~ I already own the game, everything is already setup I just got to download the new client and start playing, the PC can handle it, and handle it well just because it is windows sometimes the PC just wants to have a rest and crash up on me. PS3 Version ~ I will have to buy the game again, the graphics are as equal to PC version (although only in 720p - but which PS3 game isn't!) and the chances of locking up is very unlikley, but then the other problem is, I will be limited to when I can play via PS3 as we only have 1 decent TV in the house. The game feels better, and plays better on the PS3 too, although you can use a control pad for the PC version, something doesn't seem right. I suppose it doesn't matter which version I play on, as long as I play! Every beta test stage that included the PS3, my PC never got a look in, I was more interested how the game played on PS3 then anything, and I love how the devs are listening this time! The first release of beta, was in 1080, but so much lag was reported and the frame rate sucked, so they reduced it all down to 720, now it is playable.

Rock on! So I have to link my beta acess in my SE account to my PSN account? Then I'm ready to rock if we get called up! Sounds good to me! And nice work pip was glad I got my AF3+1 before I quit looks great in the CS's I do regret not finishing the story lines for that game but it was a lot harder when we were doing them and putting a party together was a nightmare it was just too time consuming in the end! How's the new expansion?? Looks sweet like? I guess it will sort out the skill ups problem with the raised level cap or is everyone still running round with below par skills on lvl 99 chars?? Because that was becoming a real problem with the cap increase and easy Exp gain in Abby?

OK sorted my SE is linked with my PSN so that's sorted! Also at launch what server will you be on? Ragnarok? Because what I have heard so far is that Ragnarok is for legacy account holders only which I assume you have seen as you have been beta testing since day one? Will me and Vik not have acess to that server?

Aye Ragnarok is legacy, but that's where my lv 30 Lancer is on from v1.0 merge, as I plan to start again anyway I will choose different server.
When you start up on beta, lemme know which one you choose

No idea on the new expansion as I haven't got it, I am not going to buy it until people are ready to do the missions, the new job classes don't interest me much, and nope, things are pretty much the same as they were, only good thing is you can now get skill ups during Campaign Battle Yay! Anyway's off to the battlefield I go!

Glad to hear they finally put the skill ups back in campaign was a stupid move to take em out in the first place they did it because people were going afk just attacking fortifications for skill ups but I mean I didn't think that justified taking them out! By the gods I miss Campaign the most hope there is something like that in XIV do people still do besiged? Or is whitegate a ghost town now?

besieged is getting missed a lot, you be lucky to get a couple of people in there at a time. They fixed campaign battle, you will only get skill ups if there is an attack on a fortification from the beastmen. which they should have done anyway to be honest. Even Abby is ruined, all the good party spots (if you can get a normal Abby party) are taken by RMT bots, but only needed enough to help boost stuff so I can spend longer while farming my AF stuff.

F.A.T.E! (Full Active Time Events) you get a horde of enemies coming at ya, and if you are at right level (or higher may need to level sync) your participation will grant you exp and items and the like. ARR is focusing more on the dungeon runs then anything else, oh and on another note, I will be leaving the Legacy servers, most of the legacy players I met so far, haven't played any of the previous beta tests, they think "I played v1.0 so I know what to do! I can adapt to the changes!" The answer to that is.. no.. no you don't know anything about the new version, when I played with my v1.0 transfer I had NO IDEA what I was doing, and the fact you have to do all the opening scenes all over again, and I got bored with it even though I was able to plow through with no problems. Getting really hyped up now.

Nice! Sounds good to me Eli! Can't beat a good ruck with loads of enemys that's what its all about!! Can't wait now going to be the longest month. This wait is going to kill me!! Just want to get on it! Starting from scratch discovering new places etc etc like I always said "its not the gear or the level its the Adventures you have and the people that you meet on the way that make the game"
Me and Vik have just been talking about servers and apparently this time round there are dedicated RP servers was thinking of going for one of those past experience has taught me the people on RP servers are always better and there's always a better vibe to them no stupid names and people talking like wiggers etc etc

Aye, you been reading up on gameplay and other features? there is so much more to do in ARR, it isn't just pick up a Guildleve go out and battle until your weapon breaks.. get it fixed.. and repeat with a random dungeon run in here and there.. it really feels like a living world with proper depth.

Yea man been watching loads of youtube vids and reading till my eyes bleed they have realy gone to town on it the whole crafting system looks amazing. Combat looks realy slick FfXI style instead of that horrible hack and slash thing in 1.0 it looks like the game In my head when they announced it way back when like XI but modern in HD with all the bits you always wanted for XI but just wernt fesable and all the mistakes from XI ironed out. Love the class and job system too being able to get barding for your chocobo and having other mounts too!! And Magitek friggin Magitek its like a FF fanboys wet dream the baddies have Magitek fantastic like proper old school FF evil tecno empire and that lake with the midgarsorma interwined with the wreckage of an airship breath taking!
Do weapons still break?

LOL Its like they have a proper team developing it this time! the beta forums are more moaning about the price of the subs and how legacy players will eventually get bored on their dedicated servers, I remember 3 weeks before release of v1.0 on the beta test forums back then.. "Wait the game is going to be released.. but... it isn't ready this needs to be adjusted, that doesn't feel right, and these could do with a bit of tweaking"
Most of the testers I know are now saying.. BRING ON RELEASE!!!!!
yeah a few tweaks are still needed but the game feels a lot more polished this time around, we can't even wait for the next beta test stage!
I know this is the old school red mage pimp in me, but I just love the fact I can dye my gear to a colour I want it to be! If only my Mederi gear in FFXI was red! With the materia system being implemented soon, so you can have the equipment you like the looks of, in the colour you like, with the attributes you want! THAT is what I am talking about!
