Armored core has just been released for PSP here I think. Definately a game I would love to play. Huge amounts of customisation and tough battles, not for everyone, especially if you like instant action only. TekkenAnd I am eagerly awaiting hearing about Tekken which it seems will be coming to PSP during the Summer. If it is multiplayer, this will be huge for the PSP and will make it really worth owning.

Nice, Armored core looks good. It looks a lot like Mech Warrior. The more things that can be customised the better! I will often spend more time customising than actually playing in games like these, just because I like customising so much! It really adds depth.
Tekken could be good as well but only if they have worked out a good control system for fighting and there is little or no LAG on any multiplay they might have.

Ah, it sounds like Armored Core is the game for you! Reviews actually warn that you are likely to spend a huge amount of the time customising. I'm happy with that. It's just a shame this one isn't multiplayer, but still, it looks great fun anyway.
Well I expect they will use the same tried and tested control system they had for Tekken on playstation, for the PSP. Should work great. But yeah, the big question is multiplay and how good it will be if it's there. Should be a big 'news release' about this come May. I hope they do their best.

Armored Core is actually 2 player! woohoo! And you get awesome action replays of the entire battle. You have to see it to believe it.... Wipeout is simply brilliant. I personally find this game far more enjoyable than Mario Cart and would recommend people to try it to see what they think of it. You can never tell until you've tried it. I have played this wifi multiplayer too, very cool! These are the two games I have bought, both very good and fun. I'm still trying out all the stuff on it, very cool. I look forward to the very soon releases of Worms and Lemmings this month. One of the things psp lacks is bomberman, noooooo! lol. Feel free to ask questions, I will do my best to answer them.

I think Bomberman has only ever been out on Nintendo consoles so I doubt the PSP will ever be blessed with this game.
Nice to know Armored core is at least two player, now if only I had a PSP.

Well I think if you are ever considering getting an MP3 player, you may as well get this instead, considering all the extra things you can do with it. I've seen MP3 players going for £300. The PSP with a Giga card costs about £200 so definately my choice any day.
No Bomberman is a shame, but this month something just as famous (possibly) is coming out for it. Worms! And it's four player. Yes, I am getting it, mm yeah, you know this will be good.
There is so much good stuff about this PSP, it would take me too long to list everything. The one thing that isn't so good is the battery life. If you are playing a game constantly, that requires a lot from the PSP and you have it on full volume, it will probably last about 3 and a half hours. But I don't actually mind that much, so it's all good. I will have to show it to you guys, it's very impressive and fun.

I think Bomberman has only ever been out on Nintendo consoles so I doubt the PSP will ever be blessed with this game. Yeah apart from Mega Bomberman on the MegaDrive!

Never heard of Mega Bomberman, funny how everything on the SNES always started with "Super" just because of the console name. I guess it was a bit of a cheesy rip off calling it Mega Bomberman because it was on the Mega drive. Anyway as long as it was not ruined in anyway way, its all good!
Worms is possibly one of the games I have played most in my whole life. It is fairly average when played single player, but the random maps and customisable weapon schemes made it legendary when played with a few friends!
Never really had the need for an MP3 player. I guess its because I never buy music, so I don’t really have MP3's to play.

Yup, it has been released. So a Bomberman on PS is possible, but won't really offer anything new and exciting in my opinion on the PSP. Also Worms, is comming out for DS: But I have to say that despite the flawed 3 hour battery life (approx) but the other problems with the PSP that were announced on the original Jap and US release, have been fixed, although I do find the console a bit hard to hold and control it is a good gaming machine, BUT still a bit too pricey for me.

Put away that fanboy'ism list!!!
-Too Pricy -Low battery life -Hard to control -Dead pixels -Flying disks -scrachable screen -locking square button -most games you already own on PS2 more or less. -most only good original franchises are all racing
Lol.

Actually European PSPs don't have the flying discs, or a locking square button. Screen protectors are easy to come by, dead pixels are easy to correct, and I have no difficulties whatsoever with the controls.
The 'most games are PS2 ports' isn't actually true at all, it's just there are several, and this is a ridiculous exaggeration by some who want to hate the PSP.
So all that holds true is the poor battery life and they will be bringing out better batteries soon anyway.
And the price thing is all down to opinion.
Considering it is an MP3 player/ Movie player/ Games console, I think the price is respectable. And of course I think the games in general are far more enjoyable, which is the main reason I bought it.

The only way to correct dead pixels on a screen is to replace the entire LCD Screen I am afriad, and as Sony have stated they will not replace a PSP unless it has more then 15 Dead pixels, if you have 14 theywill say no, even if it does mean that your game is ruined by the quality. (the chances of even getting one is like 1,000 to 1) Nintendo however will replace a DS if there is one or more dead pixels on any of the screens no questions asked (as long as it is within warranty), thats what most peoples opinion about the dead pixels is all about.
How much will a new Battery cost? I mean you spend £260 for a Unit, then they will probably expect you to spend another £30-60 on a new battery so you can play for 6 hours instead of 3.
For me, I would want a Portable Games console to specialise on GAMES! Yes it is good value when you think about the MP3 / Video player too... BUT the problem is these Videos (UMD's) cost around £20-30 and can ONLY be played on a PSP (good thinking there eh?) so basically if there is a film you like on DVD you have to re-buy it.
Or, convert it using some software to store it onto a Memory Stick (max storage 1GB)...
Most Portable video players, have a decent size screen, decent audio, and range from £300 - £600
The £300 ones have MPEG 4 (XviD & DivX) and have over 20GB's worth of storage! I would rather buy that for my portable video then a PSP, as it also handles music, not just MP3's but WMA, AAC, and can handle a varity or files.
So that leaves it just for the games, I am not spending almost £200 for something that does't me offer me anything new, yes the PSP has great graphics, but as I spend most of my game time at home anyway, there is no point as I could just play on my super powered PC, or a various range of consoles. (which is also true about Videos actually)
That is why I PERSONALLY think that the PSP is far to overpriced for a games console that doesn't really offer anything new.
The DS, has offered a new way to play games... the PSP is basically a compressed PS2

Hmm, maybe it is basically a compressed PS2, but I persoanlly think that's cool. Plus you have the multiplayer Wifi, which really makes a huge difference to me on what are already fantastic games.
And, true, I take back the fact dead pixels are easily fixed. But there is a video file that can be run that has a good chance of fixing them. As I don't have any dead pixels on here though and none of my friends do on theirs, I'm not too bothered, lol.
As for the battery, I don't have a problem with the one I have, it's just something trivial as far as I'm concerned.
I simply can't turn down the opportunity to play Tekken, worms, armored core, wipeout, etc; multiplayer over a handheld, it's too much fun! Of course if you doubt you will find that fun, as you don't like those sort of games, then don't get it, simple as that really.

Deffinition of a Dead Pixel A pixel on an LCD monitor that remains unlit, or black, when it should be activated and displaying a color. Each pixel on an LCD screen is made from three separate subpixels—one red, one green and one blue—that when combined form the colors that the users see on the monitor. A dead pixel occurs when the transistor that activates the amount of light that shows through all three subpixels malfunctions and results in a permanently black pixel. Dead pixels are rare and largely go unnoticed by the user.
So unless your saying this "Video" can basically take out and replace a faulty transistor, I am afriad it is false.
What your friend maybe thinking of is a "Burnt Pixel" (not the official phrase) which is when a pixel has been projecting the same colour over a length of time, that it sorts of forgets to change back when the unit is turned off, (basically like the "Perminate Picture Tube" that game manuals have warnings for.
This can be fixed, easily by running ANY fast moving image on the Unit. a Fast Moving Video will be the best way to fix it.

Hmm, it was probably a burnt pixel that they would fix then I would guess. Seems like the have a good chess game coming out later this year. I'll get it! Sounds great! Preview:'Hailed as the definitive Chess simulation for the formation, Konami's Chess Battle also includes a number of new gameplay modes and wireless connectivity, allowing users to play each other with ease. The classic game is also brought to life with superb 3D visuals, with extensive animated battle sequences used to show as key pieces are taken, Queens are lost and the King is finally cornered. Konami's Chess Battle also features a unique story mode, which offers the player the choice of five different Chess sets. Set in an ancient world, five distinct regimes are vying for tactical supremacy over their foes. These factions - magicians, an aquatic race, cybernetic beings, forest spirits and servants of chaos - are represented by different Chess pieces and use different animations to show them taking and losing pieces. The story mode also features hidden story elements that can be unlocked by completing pre-set tasks. In addition to the 3D option, Konami's Chess Battle allows users to view the game in the more traditional 2D, top-down view, and hardened players will revel in the 'Speed Chess' option which ups the pace and move all the pieces on the board at once. The game uses the PSP's 'Ad Hoc' and 'Infrastructure' modes to facilitate multi-player tournaments via the Internet, and players can participate in a single match or enter an online tournament which will track the ratings of the world's best players.'
